Get On Board! Train Songs, Rhymes, and Stories for Children

Trains are popular in our nation’s history. Folk, pop, rock, and classical musicians have written and performed many songs and instrumentals about trains. Children of all ages enjoy of singing, listening to, creating, and experiencing music and about trains.

Simple accompaniments using Orff instruments are provided for some pieces so students and others can experience a more in-depth understanding of accompanying themselves while singing. Chord names and fretboards are provided for soprano ukulele.

Included is the famous children's story, The Little Engine that Could by Watty Piper. This classic story belongs to us all. It is presented here as a poem/story with songs and Orff instrument accompaniment.
