When performed as a suite for upper elementary students, the prologue round, brief poems, additive connecting piece and 4 featured songs with movement yield an exciting 15-minute feature for Earth Day or other program. Each of the 6 songs can also be performed alone.

A Melody Appendix with copying rights includes the melodies with chord symbols. This allows teachers to encourage music reading skills and to perform the pieces with guitar or piano instead of an Orff instrumentarium. A Fine Arts Connections appendix provides a sampling of art and music to amplify the impact of the suite’s focus on the ancient “elements” of Earth, Water, Fire and Air.  Grades 2-6.
