Purposeful Play: Using Multi-Sensory Techniques to Solidify Musical Learning
We teach our students with a lot of visual stimuli. We sometimes forget that music is a performing art and that students are active learners. Students need to experience information kinesthetically, tactilely as well as visually. We need to allow them to experience a concept through multiple modalities to fully understand and apply it. They need time to play. Participants will receive lesson plans that include purposeful play activities using manipulatives, movement and aural cues.
