Something has been on my mind that is important to share with is Collaborating with MIE is exciting for me in a couple of different ways. About 2 years ago, I reached out to Beth Ann Hepburn to answer a call put out by AOSA about mentoring teachers. I’ve always had a yearning to help others avoid the struggles I’ve faced. I thought I could do it while abroad but it just didn’t pan out and frankly, I got buried learning a new city, in a new country, at a new school.
But now, this opportunity with MIE does align with my current situation of living abroad, allowing me to help teachers remotely while supporting a company whose products I genuinely believe in. I have to admit, I really have only ordered from MIE my whole teaching career. It made sense since I lived on the outskirts of Cleveland, I wanted to support the hometown company.
Over the years, I realized how much I really liked and preferred some of MIE’s products, especially the Kinder mallets and Renaissance recorders. It’s all I’ve ever used and I’ve actually ordered those specific items for my schools overseas! I truly believe in them. But, I’m also really OK with honestly guiding others toward different items or ideas if it suits their needs.
So, lucky me! I get to be the support I’ve wanted to be for others with products I really believe in. Again, I don’t know everything there is to know about elementary music, but what I do know I am very excited to share with you!
